MUST READ - Heartfelt

Sometimes you read something and it stays with you.

You can try and distract yourself with daily routine but you'll always have that nagging memory.

This morning, for me, that nagging feeling is Heartfelt.

http://www.heartfelt.org.au/

Heartfelt is a volunteer organisation of professional photographers from all over Australia dedicated to giving the gift of photographic memories to families that have experienced stillbirths, premature and ill infants and children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units of their local hospitals, as well as children with serious and terminal illnesses.

Heartfelt is dedicated to providing this gift to families in a caring, compassionate manner.

All services are provided free of charge.

Please visit Heartfelt, share it on facebook, and tweet the hell out of it. This is a service we all need to acknowledge because we just never know who will need it. <3

Engaged: Cyndall & Ben.

I can't do it.
Cyndall & Ben haven't got their photos back yet but I just can't wait to post a few, so I'm putting them out there.
I just love when couples are able to completely relax during shoots with me.. These guys were battling 40+ degree heat and taking it like absolutely champions.
As you can see through their photos, they absolutely adore one another and I'm honoured to be sharing these with you all tonight..
Thank you Cyndall & Ben for being so beautiful, for putting up with my outlandish requests, and for being yourselves. Enjoy..

My absolute and utter favourite from the whole day.. I love the offbeat expressions,                                        the rock on her finger and the harsh lighting -

Some people make your laugh a little louder, your smile a little brighter, and your life a little better..

I should probably tell you that I'm engaged.. (to my best friend, soulmate and lover).
We have approximately 45 days until the wedding and they're flying away and passing us before we realise it.

In anticipation of our wedding, and my committment to the most amazing person I know, it was my Kitchen Tea on Saturday. With my family and my closest friends, we celebrated in style with champagne, cakes, rice paper rolls, doughnuts, cupcakes and more..

Pete and I have been living together for 5 years now, so the tradition of giving us gifts for our home wasn't really suitable, or necessary. We are so thankful for everyone's generosity with engagement gifts as well, so spending money was the last thing we wanted people to do.

Instead, we requested people bring their favourite recipe along to be added to our Recipe book. There is no such thing as too many recipes, and it means that the girls would be contributing not just to our kitchen or house, but to our family meals as well; a time where we will sit down with our children (which we do not have yet!) and discuss their school friends and favourite games.

I'm so appreciative of all the love and laughter the girls expressed on the day, and of the dishes they provided for us to enjoy!

Even though these have already been published on facebook, I thought they were worthy of a blog post here too.
Thank you again to my beautiful company <3

The sweetest pregnant twins I know.. ;)

They say it starts with a glance...

So I see these photographers and they have these amazing blogs.
I see their followers, I see their photos, I see their lives ...and I think.. Is blogging for me?

Then I check my facebook, update my status, add some photos, 'like' some friends posts, and  *BING*, it occurs to me that yes, apparently blogging IS for me.

I like to share. Like it or not, I share. Even when you don't want to hear it, I share.

It's self-indulgent, it's "all about me", it's addictive, it's EXPRESSION.

So here I am with my ideas flowing.. And there you are, placing bets on how long it takes me to get over myself and stop posting here.

But for those of you who want to be here.....

Thank you.
